I have been experiencing problems with the Jaws Dictionary Manager and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing the same and if so, what they might have done in order to fix it.
When I change the pronunciation of a word or even the language it is to be spoken in as is available in the most recent versions of Jaws. However, in certain instances the word that I have altered is no longer spoke with the corrected pronunciation nor will it be spoken in the alternat language I have chosen for it. Not even when I go back into the Dictionary manager and either delete or change the entry and reenter the word along with the altered pronunciation or language. Also, if with other words the pronunciation will stay exactly the same when I attempt to correct the way it is spoken. This only happens with random words without any discernable pattern.
Any feedback or suggestions regarding this situation would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cristobal
press insert plus f6, then press control Shift D to open the default configuration file. Inside, go to set options menu, then select text processing, and then make sure that the check box for the option dictionary is checked. If it is not, check it, press OK, and then save the changes. If this doesn't work I would suggest either passing the subject onto a jfw e-mail list or run the maintenance tool to make a jaws installation repair.
Isn't the insert+f6 the headings command? In any event, i tried the insert+f6 and I did in fact get the headings list.
my bad, insert plus six.
